Not worth the hassle and I would have rated it lower than 1 star if possible. Tried the free search but it wasn't current info. Tried the free 24 hr trial offer info which didn't give me what I needed either. Although signing up for the trial indicates you won't be charged, you do need to input your credit card info. DON'T BELIEVE THIS! Even though I cancelled it (since it was useless) before the 24 hrs were up, I got charged $24.95. I've cancelled it again -- we'll see if it takes this time.

In summary, I would not recommend People Finders to a friend.

PeopleFinders.com is a huge scam! If you use their 'free trial service' even once you will wind up being charged a 24.95 monthly fee!

I CANCELLED my service after one try, because the info was so outdated as to be worthless. They 'have no record' of the cancellation and have been charging me a monthly fee ever since for a product i NEVER wanted!!!

Don't waste your money, or allow them to strip your privacy!!

In summary, I would not recommend People Finders to a friend.

I gambled that this site might actually give me useful information, and lost. The initial report they provided gave me nothing but a single address (for $49.95), and nothing else. When I complained to the BBB, they gave me another report, but for the wrong person (his father). A third report was for the correct person, but only had two addresses I could have looked up in the phone book, and it was padded with all kinds of info about neighbors to those addresses (which is not what I asked for).

Save your money and move on. This business is not legitimate, and does not have the customer's best interest in mind.

In summary, I would not recommend People Finders to a friend.

Careful!

I used these guys for screening tenants. Little did I know. I approved a tenant to go into one of my houses based on their information. Long story short, we had to go in with deputies to clear the house, because they we running a drug operation from the house! I wish I was kidding.

I talked to customer service, and they said that people can 'opt-out' of showing the information on their site. Great. So now I only can find the stupid criminals ....

I wanted my money back, but I got a "You were satisfied with us before, so that can't happen". They kept explaining that this should be used alongside a real screening service, so that if you found something that looked fishy, you can go to a site they recommend to do a real check. What!?!

Not sure what you need them for. If I don't find anything on someone, I need to be sure there is nothing to be found. Call customer service, and ask that specific question. You can reach them at 1800 718 8997. You will not be sorry for checking first.

In summary, I would not recommend People Finders to a friend.

I went to Peoplefinder site to get a reverse telephone number look-up. Their site said that they had found detailed information of the owner's name. When I paid the $4.95 for the report, the name was only the town name. When I asked for a refund, they emailed me a refusal because they tried their best and I should read the terms of use. Bottom line, their site was deceptive and they got my money. Give me a break.

In summary, I would not recommend People Finders to a friend.

Although the use of looking up a phone number was simple....the billing or fleasing of the customer seems to be the M.O.! When confronted....they cant refund your money!

BE VERY CAREFUL IN USING THIS SITE!!!!!!!!

I used this service to attempt to locate potential witnesses for a civil case. Signed up for the 3-1 membership ($19.95). Initially could not access reports, and the website's customer service email was down, so I sent an email to the business development team with no response. I was not able to view reports and was eventually billed for a second month of membership along with two months of a second membership I did not sign up for. I did not receive any receipt or notification when I was billed for the second service or the second month of either service. When I contacted customer service, they said they would refund the first month of the second (unintended) membership and the second month of the original (intended) membership. When questioned about why that made any sense, the representative simply said they were already doing me a favor for refunding half of the charges, and that in the small print for the first membership it notified me I was being signed up for a second membership.
